Hi, was hoping Mappily would be a work around to get turn by turn directions for routes on my Venu 4. Garmin advertised the Venu 4 as having turn by turn directions but have since backtracked and said this was a marketing error.
I was hoping to pay for premium Mappily but when I tried it today it just showed me a drawn route but no turn by turn directions. It also occasionally (incorrectly) showed me as off route but I imagine it would vibrate to alert me of this, but it didn’t. I have activated directions etc in the Mappily settings and receive vibration alerts for other aspects of my workout in the watch settings.
Will turn by turn notifications via Mappily also be impossible on a Venu 4? If so the app doesn’t particularly give me anything that my watch can’t already do. Thanks
Hi, - the watch should vibrate when you go off route and pop up a message, presuming you’ve turned on off-route notifications in the menu. It should activate when you’re around 40m off route.
Turn notifications can be enabled in the same menu and should prompt you when you get within around 20m of the next turn, although it relies on the path turning at an angle, not junctions, so it may not always trigger exactly as you expect.
These will only work when you have a gpx route loaded and you’re following it. I.e they start checking when you first appear on the route.
If either of these don’t work please let me know and we’ll investigate. Ideally you could send the route to user-support@mappily.info so we can recreate it.

I had turned on both off route warnings, and turn by turn notifications and followed a GPX I had uploaded but no turn notifications came in the entire 10km route. Have emailed you the GPX. Thanks for your reply
Let me take a look and see why that might be. Do you get vibrations if you leave the route?
Thanks. Nope, it flashes up but doesn’t vibrate even though I get vibrations for other alerts (pause, auto lap etc).
